Peace Tree Plantation Campaign gets started

Lahore: April 5, 2017. (Fr. Inayat Bernard) Olive tree saplings were planted at St. Mary’s Minor Seminary on April 3, 2017. This activity was carried out under the umbrella of National Commission for Inter-Religious Dialogue & Ecumenism (Catholic Bishops’ Conference Pakistan). Muslim Religious leaders, priests and seminarians planted trees in the premises of seminary. Muslim Religious leaders including Pir Shafat Rasool Nuri, Pir Tariq Wali, Allama Makhdoom Asam Manzur, Allama Akhtar Arif Chisti, Hafiz Inamul Rehman and Mufti Syed Ashiq Hussain planted three olive trees accompanied by Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap, Fr. Ashfaq Anthony OFM Cap, Fr. Zafar Tanveer and the host and rector Fr. Inayat Bernard. Muslim and Christian religious leaders appreciated this activity and expressed our efforts to plant trees will definitely play a significant role for betterment of our mother earth. Rev. Fr. Nadeem Francis OFM Cap shared his views that His Holiness Pope Francis issued his encyclical Laudato Si” (Care for Our Common Home) and addressed to every person living on this planet for an inclusive dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet. Fr. Nadeem added that today’s activity is to contribute for caring for creation and to play constructive role in making healthy environment healthy. Rev. Fr. Nadeem Francis OFM Cap (Vice Provincial – Order of Friars Minor Capuchins) and Rev. Fr. Inayat Bernard (Rector – St. Mary’s Minor Seminary) coordinated this activity. Rev. Fr. Zafar Tanveer and Rev. Fr. Ishafq OFM Cap were also present in this activity. Prior to this on the 25th of March, 2017 five olive trees were planted at the Muslim madrisa at Markiz Bilal Jallo mor hosted by Pir Shafat Rasool Nuri.
