World Peace Day on January 30th 2010. |

Dear Sir,
Fr. Anthony Charanghats Editorial in The Examiner, on occasion of World Peace Day on 30th January, Be Peacemakers, not just Peace-lovers was very meaningful and it is the need of the day. Many of us go around just talking about peace, but our hearts are filled with hatred, envy, jealousy etc., thus devaluing the true value of peace. It is important that we become peacemakers persons who will promote and share the peace that is destroyed by people filled with hate and disharmony. We tend to speak about peace, but do nothing to spread peace. We are quick to condemn and try to be unforgiving, which increases the hate within us. Being a peace-maker is being with the Maker the Heavenly Father, who has created us to spread his peace on earth. Being a peace-maker is to be in an intimate relationship with God, human persons and the whole creation.
We are all called to be peace-maker, hence we have to first and foremost kill the hate we have within us, surrender completely to God and spread his message of love, joy and peace to all around us. In the world striven with war and hatred, peace is the need of the hour and there is a need for many to become peacemakers and spread his peace on earth.
Thanking you.
Yours sincerely,
Cajetan Peter D'Souza |
