29 Jan 2010
New York: January 28, 2009. (PCP) Mr. William Shahzad, Chairman PCA, Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President PCA, Babar Khokhar, General Secretary PCA
and members of PCA Board of Directors James Gill, Rev. Shad Gill, Arshad Bhatti, Zeba Gill, Saleem John and Edgar Wilson have strongly condemned killing of 12 years old Christian Shazia in Lahore.
Teenage Shazia was tortured and killed by former president of Lahore High Court Bar Association Mohammad Naeem Choudry. She was working as housemaid to earn for his family living since 2009, like bonded labor and restricted to meet her parents after some advance paid by Mohammad Naeem.
On January 21, 2010, Mohammad Naeem Advocate came to house of Shazia and told her father Bashir Masih that their daughter is sick and in hospital. Mohammad Naeem was accompanied with one Pakistan Army Brigadier and offered twenty thousand Rupees as deal to cover-up situation of Shazia sickness.
When father of Shazia reached Lahore hospital with other relatives on morning of January 22, 2010, Shazia was found dead. The doctors told cause of death as rape and murder after hitting with sharp blunt weapon.
Bashir Masih went to Defense Police Station for registration of case against Mohammad Naeem advocate with leaders of one Christian NGO.
The parents of Shazia are illiterate and not familiar with legal situation and depended on directions of Christian NGO leaders who also not bothered to get written medical report causing death of Shazia after receiving dead body. The incident was brought in notice of Pakistani electronic media which broadcasted news of rape and killing of Shazia by Muslim lawyer attracting attention of provincial and federal authorities.
As claimed by Mohammad Naeem advocate in presence of Pakistan Army Brigadier in home of Shazia to her parents that he have links with politicians and Pakistan Army and no one can touch him in Pakistan but on uproar of media and protest of some Christian NGO activists and family of victim in front of Punjab Assembly building in Lahore, police took over dead body and laid down in local hospital.
The leaders in Punjab government linked to Mohammad Naeem advocate visited family of Shazia and assured justice and registration of case.
The authorities announced special three member Medical Board to conduct postmortem for reasons of death of Shazia. The autopsy reports in such cases take three days to declare cause of death but Medical Board announced after hours that Zhazia was not raped.
The Christian NGO leaders not bothered to challenge formation of medical board and failed to include independent doctors in government formed doctors team.
The rape murder case of Shazia Bashir was registered as torture killing case with Defense Police Station Lahore and Mohammad Naeem advocate was arrested on January 25, 2010.
Killer lawyer was produced in Cantonment Courts Lahore on January 26, 2010 where Muslim lawyers harassed parents of Shazia and media teams blocking entrance to court area.
According to sources, after 3 days police remand by Additional Session Judge, Mohammad Naeem advocate has been treated as VIP in police station. He is visited by one Muslim political party leaders, provided hotel food, calling on his cell phone to friends in government and directing his lawyer community.
It is revealed that killer advocate says “My friends are successful to change facts from rape to torture killing and now foolish Christian leaders can not harm me”
To some extent, killer and molester lawyer is right because after dropping of rape charges it will be difficult to prove him killer by legal team of Christian NGO.
The son, wife and accused members of Mohammad Naeem were granted interim bails on January 26, 2010 till February 3, who are conducting press conferences and trying to prove that Shazia was mentally ill and fell down of stairs and injured.
Pakistani Christian Association in North America PCA leaders have urged government to ensure justice for teenage Christian girl Shazia Bashir and due punishment for accused Mohammad Naeem Choudry advocate.
PCA leaders appealed to Christians in Pakistan to offer prayers on January 29, 2010, when Mohammad Naeem will be produced in court that justice may prevail.
