Lahore. Oct 9. All the Christian leaders in parliament under separate elections from last 17 years and the Christian groups in favor of separate election in joint meeting here today decided to finalize the plans to keep the Christian voters away from
The ISI backed and just formed few months back the Christian Alliance and an other Christian group only have openly announced the favor of PPP and PML (N) on intimation of government agencies when the groups in favor of separate election were harassed by the government agents and administration to keep silent and threatened to face the trials on openly setting any campaigns against the government amendments on Christian elections on the reserved seats under joint elections.
The PCP sources were informed that many candidates on these reserved seats in these elections were also present in this meeting when they were annoyed at not to contest as independent and failed to seek the upport on nomination by the majority political parties under these new amended laws when the Muslim political groups on proportional to voting percentage secured in elections shall get the reserved seats for women and minorities.
There was the last effort of this silent opposition to move the issue and get stay from the Supreme courts of Pakistan for which ex federal minister J Salik have filed the petition to challenge these laws but government handled to keep the election in forced by not submitting any plea in courts and turned successful to put this matter on 14 October for hearing in Supreme Courts of Pakistan.
In this new situation after failing in Supreme courts to get the action in time the Christian leaders chalked out the plans to reveal the voters of their decision door by door on the night of October 9 to stay at home but in case if the Christian government agents with help of Muslim religious and political parties force them to the polling booths, the voters were directed to vote for void or for the independents.
In this secret meeting it was also decided to launch struggle for the restoration of Dual voting rights for the minorities of Pakistan where the Christians may elect their own representatives and also vote for the Muslim candidates in their constituencies.
