The Sindh Government spokesman pleaded " hand grenade thrown on Bible Society was to gather security personals in the vicinity to be victim of the second car bomb explosions which exploded only 15 minutes later"
Earlier the Police Operations Chief Tariq Jameel said, " Attack occurred after police received an anonymous phone warning that the Pakistan Bible Society would be targeted".
According to city police chief Asad Ashraf Mallick talking to reporters at the site, on the time of incident " two motorcyclists hurled a grenade at the Holy Trinity Church reading room, which injured Bible Society employee and when the police reached the spot, a bomb fitted in a nearby car exploded, injuring 11 people, including three of our officials".
Witnesses said two men - both wearing helmets, which covered their faces - pulled over outside the Bible Society Reading Room, part of the historic Holy Trinity Church, and threw a grenade. The grenade hit the footpath and exploded, which shattered the glass of the library and injured its manager, Peter Pervez. Police had reached the site after an anonymous phone call warned of a bomb put in Bible Society Reading Room.
AP also added: Police Operations Chief Tariq Jameel said the attack occurred after police received an anonymous phone warning that the Pakistan Bible Society would be targeted. He said shortly after the officers arrived, assailants in a car drove up and lobbed a grenade at them.

Meanwhile, Bishop of Lahore, Primate of the church of Pakistan, and president Pakistan Bible Society Alexander John Malik has strongly condemned the blasts at Pakistan Bible Society, Christian Reading Room in Karachi. He demanded the early arrest of the culprits of this brutal act of terrorism.
