Christmas day is very popular, most active and full of spirit in the world. I am sure that this day is the most beautiful and celebrated day most attractive, charming, cheerful and colorful day in the world. People feel happy to celebrate this day. If we call it happiest day in the worlds, I think it would not be wrong because , people feel that this day is the day when man and God have come together in this world.
Over 2000 years ago from the house of David a virgin namely Mary with her husband Joseph, with whom she was pledged, went to Bethlehem to register their names for census. She was the virgin, who was mentioned in the book of Isaia that" The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and, will call him Immanuel".(Is.7:14) Than this prophecy was fulfilled in the Gospel of Luke, what the prophet said,. When an angel went to the Virgin Mary and said greetings and said that you will give birth to a child. Then she said since I am virgin. The angel answered, The Holy spirit will come upon you.. So the holy one to be called the son of God.(1:35).
When Jesus was born and the weather was like present time that everywhere is cool, fog. And because of this kind of weather there was no place in the Inn. But the place was only in the Stable. This was the place where Jesus was born. This occasion took place, once in the history of mankind, when God left His place and came down on the place where common people are staying. Normally, it is not easy for human being that he doesn't leave his place but God did it.`. So the birth of Jesus was according to the scriptures. He did not come in this world without informing the people. He came in the world at the fullness of time.. The prophets prophesied about his coming.
He was born according to the word of God.
At the time of his birth, the first good news was given to the shepherds who were living out in the field nearby. An angel of the Lord appeared to them and glory of God shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them does not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you that you will find a baby wrapped in cloth lying in the manger. Suddenly a great company of heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests. Luke:Luke 2:14.
And later on this good news was shone to the Magi from East and West. They saw a star and they followed it. And when the star was reached at the spot where Jesus was born and the Magi presented him gold incense and myrrh... This good news was shone to all the people of the world.. This all his coming was for the people who were very poor, rejected, lower cast and those who had faced injustice. And also those who had hope and waiting for him. Because that time so many injustices were there and they were suffering in troubles. That s why when the people's hope on the men was disappeared from their mind and hearts than there was only hope of God. And people cried, according to Isiah,"Oh God that you would rend the heaven and come down".(Is. 64:1) So there was everything according to the word of God.
If we see the situation of the world at the present moment we can see that this world is still at the time of Jesus’ birth. When all kinds of evils were there. And Jesus stood with the poor, rejected and needy people. He became the voice of the voiceless and challenged the rulers and hypocrites. Especially those who were against the human beings.
This year in Pakistan, Christian people suffered a lot because of the extremists who first burnt, Joseph Colony and then attacked at Peshawar church and killed so many people. Although these wounds will not be healed soon but they should have faith in Jesus Christ that all the souls of the martyrdom would be in the hands of Jesus. Because Jesus is our hope and courage, So, all the people should have faith on Jesus who came for the people especially the suffering and persecuted. As Jesus said in the Beatitudes, blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for their is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when people insult you, persecuting you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.(Mt.5:10).
It doesn’t meant that Jesus did not call the wicked people, he challenged them and put manifesto before them very bravely. He came for the salvation of the people and said,
"The spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me, to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim the freedom for the prisoners and the recovery of the sight of the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord in favor."(Luke,4:18-19).
I am much clear that Jesus' manifesto and his love in the world was totally for the poor’s and oppressed people. Now, this good news is for the people who have faith and hope in Jesus If we have strong faith on him and he will bring justice for us because he is real justice.. So let us start to proclaim this good news to all the people without any discrimination in the world among human beings. So that the coming of Jesus May bless all the faithful. Let us adore him and enjoy the birth if Jesus Christ. As he has assured us, that "I am with you always, to the very end of the age.(Mt.28:20).
