PHILADELPHIA: It is happening again. The Christian League of Pakistan has announced its Second Human Rights Conference. The Conference 2002 will be of two-days and will be held in Philadelphia and Washington D.C. on September 7 & 10 2002.
Several international delegates from Canada, Pakistan, Middle East, Europe and England attended last conference held in 1999. Christian League of Pakistan is a group of Christian Pakistani human rights activists in the United States of America and is known as a "pressure group". The League, in past, has arranged several conventions, processions, protest rallies and symposiums on human rights issues in Pakistan.
The Conference 2002 will provide an opportunity for all Christian Pakistanis living abroad to meet at a one place and find ways to stop the ongoing persecution of Christians in Pakistan. The conference will demand the restoration of democracy, repealing of blasphemy law and release of Christians from Pakistani jails. Prominent U.S. officials and human rights activists will also attend the conference. Several human rights groups in the U.S.A endorse the conference.
