Imran / PTI should know that not merely the restoration of his government but the relevance of Islam to ‘modern progressive democratic society’ is at stake

– The former PM Imran Khan was attracting unprecedented crowds in ‘Jalsas’ (public meetings) all across Pakistan mainly due to narrative built-up by him on four elements :-

(i)- Anti - US sentiments (which are present otherwise also in considerable part of the Muslim world), which Imran aroused out of the April 10 no-confidence resolution which was allegedly born out of US-conspiracy. This theory got credence among the people (though Imran govt couldn’t provide any evidence of money trail etc from the USA to opposition MNAs) because Pak - Ambassador to USA sent a memo to ‘External Affairs Ministry of Pakistan’ that US-official Donald Lu warned Pakistan (one day before tabling of no-confidence motion) that - "if Imran govt is not removed through no-confidence motion then there would be consequences (in view of Imran’s visit to Russia on the eve of Ukraine war)". 

(ii)- ‘Pakistan ka matlab kya’ (what is the meaning of Pakistan) - ‘La ilaha illallah’ which (as per Imran) means that Pakistanis (Muslims) should fear only Allah and not the USA. Hence in the interest of achieving ‘haqeeqi azadi’ (real independence) through ‘azadi march’ - is the religious duty of all the Muslims in Pakistan to wage non-violent Jihad to dislodge Shehbaz-govt (the imported govt which has come due to alleged US-conspiracy) by conducting immediate elections after dissolving National Assembly (NA). 

(iii)- ‘Riyasat-e-Madina’ which was getting traction among the substantial number of Pakistanis because of hardship they are facing out of economic problems in present political system and due to Imran’s repeated assertions that in ‘Riyasat-e-Madina’ it will not happen that “small thieves are punished while big thieves & dacoits are allowed to go free”. 

(iv)- Anti - India sentiments, though earlier not raised so powerfully but lately it was invoked due to life imprisonment given to Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik by an Indian court.

Imran in popular perception was considered to be a champion of Islamic cause the way he raised the issue of Islamophobia at various international forums including at the UN, he keeps ‘tasbeeh’ (rosary) all the time in his hand, he talks repeatedly of ‘Riyasat-e-Madina’ etc. Hence it was expected that Imran (in his individual capacity and also as the Chief of his party ‘Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’, the PTI) would be extremely serious & conscious in conducting ‘azadi-march’ which he offered as a means to achieve [through ‘civil (non-violent) Jihad’] the said objective of realizing ‘Riyasat-e-Madina’ by immediate elections after dissolving National Assembly. But Imran / PTI failed miserably on May 25 azadi-march as mentioned below:- 

(1)- Imran should have taken appropriate permission (from the concerned administration / police authorities for the May 25 march to and Jalsa / Dharna at Islamabad) and then only the people should have been asked / allowed to move towards Islamabad.  

(2)- When the PTI applied for such permission before May 25 march which was denied to it by the govt, the PTI should have moved the court for getting such permission but the PTI didn’t do it. On the contrary ‘Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) had to move the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on May 25 even to get permission for the PTI march to Islamabad which didn’t solve the problems of the PTI about the Dharna site at Islamabad.

(3)- Due to said dereliction of  Imran / PTI (regarding permission for march / Jalsa/ Dharna) not only PTI and its supporters were harassed (even killed) before and on May 25 march but the people couldn’t go in this Islamabad march (only about 20,000 people reached Islamabad in place of about 20 -30 lakhs as PTI was planning and claiming) and the people couldn’t carry-out Dharna at Islamabad. With the result Imran did the drama of calling-off Dharna for 6 days by saying that "he doesn’t want a clash between people v/s Police & military (who are securing Jalsa / Dharna site and red zone)". Imran forgot that when SCP has already intervened and given orders to Govt for unrestricted march / Jalsa / Dharna by PTI, there is no reason why people will clash with police & military unless they indulge in violence & destruction of properties. 

(4)- Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman of JUI-F carried out a much bigger Dharna in Islamabad in 2019 end (during the regime of Imran govt) but the people in this Dharna were of different socio-economic backgrounds.  Imran / PTI failed to understand that a substantial support base of PTI is from educated so-called middle class professionals and their educated families, who don’t like to participate in any activity which is mis-organized and unnecessarily in violation of law. 

(5)- Imran / PTI committed a major mistake by organizing azadi-march to and Jalsa / Dharna at Islamabad of 2-3 million people. Instead Imran / PTI should have planned rather now (for June 2022 azadi-march) should plan azadi-march to and Jalsa / Dharna of 2-3 million people all across Pakistan at Tehsil headquarters, District headquarters, Division headquarter, State capitals and National capital Islamabad. 

(6)- In order to avoid any confrontation of the participants of May 25 azadi-march with the law & order authorities, Imran / PTI should have done rather still should do (for June 2022 azadi-march) the following by improving PTI website (i)- The name of all the members & office bearers of PTI throughout Pakistan (and abroad) should be displayed on PTI website (ii)- Programs with details of place and time of Jalsas / Dharna of the PTI (including at Islamabad) should be displayed on the PTI website along with permission by Police / administration for these Jalsas. / Dharnas (iii)- Schedule of marches (including Islamabad March) with details of place, time and routes should be displayed on the PTI website. along with permission by Police / administration for these Marches.

No doubt merely the success of azadi-march and Jalsa / Dharnas of 2-3 million people (by doing as mentioned above) in June 2022 (if Shehbaz govt doesn’t dissolve the NA, which it wouldn't do) wouldn’t usher political system of Pakistan into ‘Riyasat-e-Madina’ and for it much more will have to be done especially about constitution of the PTI but at the same time success of azadi-march and Jalsa / Dharnas of 2-3 million people in June 2022 through said ‘civil (non-violent) Jihad’ will pave the way for the realization of ‘Riyasat-e-Madina’ because nothing succeeds like success.  

Meanwhile. In other article on USA will remain passive spectator while Pakistan falls in trap of Imran who now planning to take ‘June-azadi-march’ as militant-Jihad            

Recently one of my friend in the USA (from Afghanistan origin) told me that - “the USA abandoned Afghanistan after remaining there for 20 years because the USA was hurt the way Karzai & Ghani governments treated the USA where lives, blood and money were given by the USA (for Afghanistan) but Afghan government was giving benefits to Chinese companies in the contracts of important / rare minerals. Moreover the USA doesn’t take interest in day-to-day political processes / matters of other countries'. God only knows how far this theory is correct but at-least it's later part seems to be true if recent developments in Pakistan are taken into consideration. The USA wanted the Imran government out of office (because Imran was seen to be coming close with Russia and that too during the Ukraine war) and this happened when Imran was removed from power on April 10 through no-confidence motion. Normally one would think that now by default Shehbaz govt should get full (even extra) support of the USA but as per above theory USA has not taken interest in day-to-day politics of Pakistan. With the result  Imran / PTI is now planning to take ‘June-azadi-march’ at the level of militant Jihad, as mentioned below:-

(2)- Shehbaz-govt was expected to issues a statement before May 25 that - “federal and provincial governments would cooperate in this PTI march from all over Pakistan towards and then Jalsa / Dharna of May 25 at Islamabad etc in the interest of ensuring political rights of the people and governments will allow only those march and Jalsa / Dharna which will be carried out by taking legally expected permission from concerned administration / police authorities and if Imran / PTI tries to carry out these marches & Jalsas / Dharna without such permissions then the government / security forces will enforce law & order promptly & strictly and for its consequences Imran / PTI shall be legally responsible”. But the government didn’t issue such a statement.

(4)- It is important to note that Imran / PTI never approached court for ‘May 25 march’ permission on the contrary judicial community (the Bar Association) approached the SCP which ordered the government Wednesday night to remove all the blockades and to arrange an open space for Khan’s supporters to hold their rally in line with their democratic rights https://www.voanews.com/a/pakistan-s-ex-pm-khan-gives-government-6-days-to-announce-election/6590275.html . Imran reached Islamabad in the night and left it on May 26 morning after realizing that he was not prepared to fight the security forces. 

(5)- Imran, who even now is merely sending letters to the SCP but is not filing any petition in the SCP (as told by him during a press conference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC1C0HVfCTA ) told that the PTI was not prepared against oppression of security forces hence now they will go to Islamabad in June (after 6 days ultimatum is over) with full preparation (which will take-on even security forces as revealed by PTI Punjab office bearer Ali Nawaz Imran https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ugrUxp813c ). The PTI supporters in Punjab now want to be seen with Imran because on May 25 an impression was created that only people from KPK (with Pashtun base) came to Islamabad but people from Punjab didn’t. As is being discussed in Pak media (even mainstream) it has created a regional (KPK - Punjab) and ethnic (Pashtun-Punjabi) divide which is causing concern especially among Punjabis. That is why Punjabi PTI office bearers are now saying that PTI could bring people from KPK because there is a PTI govt in KPK whereas from Punjab (with PML-N govt) they couldn’t come because of police excesses and for which people were not prepared. Hence now in 'June-azadi-march' they will go to Islamabad with full preparation even to take-on security forces which in other words there will be militant-Jihadis of PTI in 'June-azadi-march'.

(6)- The people shouldn’t think that Imran is such a simple person that he will be satisfied by such assurance of Punjabis (about militant Jihadis). Rather Imran (himself a Pashtun and having a support base among militant Jihadis from Afghanistan) will depend mainly on the Pashtun militant Jihadis (who will rope-in other militant Jihadis too). The situation will further complicate for Shehbaz-govt if Russia (supported by China, which is pining to establish ‘authoritarian Chinese democracy’ in nuclear Pakistan for which Imran even as PM had shown preference, many times) enters into the picture in view of the fact that there is a rift in Pak - military between Jihadi element and remaining element as has been discussed in national and international media too (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7G4jiLcOoA ) 

The people should forget that the USA will do some thing about warding-off such highly likely militant Jihad by Imran / PTI through 'June-azadi-march'. It is to be seen what is going to be the response of India which is going to be impacted maximum, for obvious reasons, by this impending militant Jihad in Pakistan.
