LARKANA: May 25, 2009. (Nazir Siyal for PCP) A complete strike was observed in Larkana and all over districts of province on Monday by Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) “Aressar group”, the strike was against the influx of internally displaced peoples Swat and Malakand into the Sindh province. The JSQM Aressar Group a day before announced complete shutter down strike and wheeljam partially in various districts.
On the occasion Markets and Bazzars, shops were remain completely closed and traffic was thin on roads upto the afternoon. The city was observed three cracker blasts at Squire Bank, Pakistan Chowk and Station road in Larkana, while fears grip all over the city.
The heavy police and rangers were deployed at various sensitive places of Larkana and other districts and tehsils. The Rangers also took security measures and flag march in Larkana led by Major Malik Mukhtiar of Rangers Larkana.
After the announcement of strike a day before late night cracker blasts were also witnessed in the city. The police and rangers were alert at various chowks and roads including Paksitan Chowk, Royal road, Station road and other places.
