Pakistani origin Dutch Pastor S. Eric ran for EU election 2009

Rotterdam: June 5, 2009. (Parvez Iqbal PCP correspondent) Rev: Sarwar Eric from Rotterdam was a candidate for a seat in European Parliament very first time in Holland history being from Pakistani origin in EU Elections held June 4, 2009 in Holland. Talking to the PCP correspondent, Rev: S. Eric explained about this and said I feel proud and honor being first Pakistani candidate for EP from Holland. I was asked by the Solidarity Political Party to be candidate for EP election and I contested through their Ticket. I am quite satisfied with the results. Although I am looser but I am happy because I had already an idea of this outcome as there were globally prominent political parties and universally known candidates were in the row against me for the same seat. Rev: S. Eric further added that being looser, still I am satisfied, I have achieved the goals I had in mind to make ways for future and young generation. Since we are now living here, we must take active part in all political, social and religious activities in the region to prove our loyalty and love, but this is only possible when we all are united, honest and strong in faith. On reply to a question Rev: S. Eric said that there was main objective to take part in this election to raise awareness and making ways for future Generation. He further added that most of the Pakistani community in Holland were not aware of this, but I did my best to inform and get favor of Pakistani Community, and those who were knew about my contest were fully cooperated. On a question about situation in Pakistan, Rev: S. Eric disclosed that in a very near future a campaign will be started to help huge numbers of IDPs first time in the History of Pakistan, especially Christian community in the area. Rev: S. Eric expressed his deep thanks to PCP and PCC for approaching him being very first media personnel’s soon after the EP elections.
