“Life for All” demands repeal of Blasphemy laws in Black Day protest.

Lahore: August 13, 2009. The “Life for All” an active human rights group of Christians in Pakistan have demanded government of Pakistan to repeal blasphemy laws. The leaders of “Life for All” were addressing a large rally gathered at press club Lahore on August 11, 2009, to observe Black Day on August 11, 2009. Mr. Rizwan Paul the President of Life for All led the protest of the Lahore Press Club and addressed the Protest, He condemned the Blasphemy law, he stressed that It really hurts to be called a Minority, he said Pakistan was formed by the minorities. In Gojra the Churches were burnt, Bibles were burnt, this is also blasphemy. He chanted out slogans "Hum Sub ka Yeh Nara ha "Pakistan" Hamarha". he demanded the Blasphemy law to be abolished as it has always been used against the Christians of Pakistan. Then in the end he thanked everyone who attended the Black day protest. Meanwhile, Pastor Fraz Siddique, told PCP today “It is astonished that after the attack on the Christian in Bahmaniwala, Korian and Gojra, some offices such as Nadra and Social Security Faisalabad has started harassing the Christians by not accepting the Marriage and Birth Certificates even issued from the office of a Bishop” Pastor Fraz said “After these incidents, such behavior has developed even in the minds of such people. Up to now the documents have been accepted, please let us know other reasons for creating hindrances. The Nazim and Secretary or Union council do not have the record of our marriage etc” “These departments also know that but it is being done delicately to harass the Christians” added Pastor Fraz We request to President, Prime Ministry, and Chief Minister of Pakistan Please help us to understand ‘’What should we do?’’
