Kashmir Solidarity Day arrangements by administration of Larkana

LARKANA: February 2, 2010. (Nazir Siyal for PCP) District Coordination Officer (DCO) Larkana Muhammad Jaffar Abbasi presided over a meting in connection with the arrangements for observing the Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 05, here on Tuesday. The meeting was decided that the main function will be held at Government Pilot Higher Secondary School Larkana, where the representatives of NGOs, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and trade unions as well as the Government officers/Officials of all the departments will participate to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day. The DCO directed the officers of social welfare department, representatives of NGOs and officials of Revenue department to display banners in the city and towns in this regard, so that the people know the importance of Kashmir Solidarity Day. The meeting also decided that the education department will organize speech competition among the students of various schools at Pilot Higher Secondary School present their speeches on the occasion. The Arts Council will also arrange the photograph exhibition to mark the day, while the DCO directed to the representative of Police Department to ensure the law and order in Larkana and the TMAs of district may also ensure the cleanliness in the cities and towns in the district. He also directed the Mukhtiarkars of the district that they should arrange such kind of programs at Taluka level. On the occasion, DCO Larkana Muhammad Jaffar Abbasi inaugurated newly established Park at DCO House Larkana, while the EDO Revenue Larkana Asad-u-llah Abro, DDO (HR) Amir Ali Abro and other concerned officers were among the meeting. Meanwhile, Sindh National Party (SNP) staged demonstration and took out protest rally against the inflation, unemployment and lawlessness here on Tuesday. The protest rally led by Central leader Fareed Jagirani and President SNPLF larkana Hafeez Rehman Mirani which marched to various roads and staged sit in front of larkana press club. On the occasion, SNP leaders addressing said that masses of Sindh are facing starvation and poverty but present government is not resolving the problems of people. They said that people of Sindh had given mandate to PPP for changing the system but rulers did not fulfill their promises. SNP leaders called for the early resolution of basic problems of masses.
