ASPTA stages protest against non provision of Teaching allowances

LARKANA: March 6, 2010. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) All Sindh Primary Teachers Association (ASPTA) staged a protest rally followed by dispatched memorandum letters to the President of Pakistan against the non provision of Teaching allowances and Timing scale to the primary teachers of Sindh here on Saturday. The rally was led by district President Syed Raza Ali Shah, rally started from Deeni Madarsah School and reached at Press Club Larkana, where the large number of teachers around 1550 employees chanted slogans in favour of their demands. The rally demanded to provide them teaching allowances and timing scale to the Sindh teachers. Later, the rally marched to the General Post Office Larkana and dispatched 1550 memorandum letters to the President Asif Ali Zardari for the resolution of their genuine issues. It is pertinent to be mentioned here that the over 0.1 million teachers of Sindh were also dispatching same memorandum letters and protest rallies across the Sindh for their issues. While other, large number of National Program for Improvement of Water Courses (NPIW) Larkana chapter held demonstration and staged sit in at Jinnah Bagh Chowk against the brutally baton charge on peaceful protesters of NPIW rally for their regularization of their jobs in Karachi. On the occasion, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz local leaders and workers in support of NPIW employees took out protest demonstration and staged sit-in at Jinnah Bagh. The protest demonstration was led by JSQM local leader Muzafar Sandano, Athar Soomro, Zafar Muheri, Aziz Shaikh and others. They all condemned the atrocities of Karachi police, resorted the baton charge on the NPIW employees they were protesting for their regularization of jobs. The employees demanded from the high authorities to release their arrested employees and take action against the police.
