21 killed in tribal clashes in Sindh

SHIKARPUR/GARHI YASIN: July 8, 2010. (By Nazir Siyal) Twenty one killed and several injured in tribal clash over the taking share of irrigation water in agri-land dispute here in the limits of Golo Daro police station of tehsil Garhi Yaseen Shikarpur district late Thursday night. According to the details, a clash erupted between Qambrani and Magsi tribesmen on taking share of irrigation water in their lands, after a heavy firing started in bloody clash and killed twenty one people including Suhrab, Rasool Bux, Habib and others on the spot and about eight injured among the serious, the details of names could not be confirmed till the filling of this report. On the occasion dead bodies and injured were shifted to the local hospital and Shikarpur Civil Hospital late night told police. After a clash between both parties, they took their positions at their sites and villages and exchanges heavy firing with rocket launchers and Kilashenkoves and sophisticated weapons, firing continued on each other at their villages Pathan Wah and others. It is mentioned here that the death toll may be increased due to continue firing with latest weapons in the remote areas and villages of Garhi Yaseen tehsil. DIG Larkana Region Sanaullah Abbasi told to this scribe that five or eight dead bodies have been confirmed and received to the police, while the current situation is murky could not say may be death toll rise and injuries. Meanwhile, a heavy police contingent reached in the area and tried to manage it but failed to arrest and stop regular firing between the tribesmen. DPO Shikarpur told that they have collected 15 dead bodies, because of murky situation in the remote area and late night. Later, the police and Rangers was continue to keep peace in the area, to maintain law and order and stop firing between Qambrani and Magsi tribesmen here late night sources told.
