Lahore: July 12, 2010: (PCP) In order to condemn the suicidal attacks on Data Darbar, to express solidarity with Muslim brothers and to express condolence with the relatives of martyrs; a delegation of National Council for Interfaith Dialogue led by Fr. Francis Nadeem visited Data Darbar. A number of representatives of different religions including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs and Hindus were the members of this delegation. Delegates expressed their deep concern over the martyrdom of innocent people to Maulana Mufti Mohammad Ramzan Sialvi (khateeb Data Darbar) and Rao Fazal-ur-Rehman (Administrator Auqaf Deptt. Punjab). Fr. Nadeem while talking to the officials of Darbar and Muslim community said that we, believers of all faiths including Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and Parsis, gathered here to express solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters. The attack on Data Darbar is meant to be an attack on whole Pakistani nation. This is the place of peace and people come here to receive peace of mind. How dreadful and regretful that to fulfill their evil deeds terrorists totally ignored the importance and esteem of this place. He condemned this inhuman and barbaric offense in strong words. He demanded the government of Pakistan to make effective and fool proof measures in order to secure the places of worships of all the religions and shrines of mystics so that everybody could perform his religious duties without any fear and harm and pay visit to shrines. He also demanded the government to exempt all the security instruments from all sorts of levies and taxes so that everybody could buy them easily. Fr. Inayat Bernard said that mystics are the common properties of the followers of all the religions because they have taught us the lesson of peace, brotherhood and unity. He further said that we all strongly condemned this barbaric tragedy. Earlier Mufti Syed Ashiq Hussain (chairman Ittehad-e-Millat, Pakistan) introduced the delegation to Maulana Mufti Mohammad Ramzan Sialvi (khateeb Data Darbar) and Rao Fazal-ur-Rehman (Administrator Auqaf Deptt. Punjab). The officials welcomed the delegation and appreciated its good gesture. Thanking the delegation they urged that in order to promote peace and elimination of terrorism, followers of all the religions have to take practical measures so that our county may get rid of the curse of terrorism and our upcoming generations may spend a peaceful and secured life in this country.
