Nottingham, UK: July 20, 2010. (PCP) The killing of two innocent Christian people at district court of Faisal Abad has displayed the existence of intolerance and extremist elements in Pakistan. The murder is committed in ambush and the contempt of prophethood is reported to have been the motive of this brutal killing. Commenting upon the incident, human rights activist and Director Research PFP called the killing pre-planned as it was committed within the precincts of the court where the security was certain. The root cause of this heinous crime by unknown person is the existence of Blasphemy Laws on Statute Book which support the Islamist to charge the minorities without taking into account the true spirit of Islam and human values. Religion is Pakistan have been exploited for political and economic gains while the current version of Islam practiced by various religious factions have nothing to do with Islam. Keeping in view the current socio-political circumstances in Pakistan, Mr. TH Shah demanded the restructuring and implementation of political system in Pakistan on secular pattern like Malaysia, Turkey and Egypt to some degree. He also appreciated the step of the Syrian government regarding imposition of ban on wearing veil or Naqab for women in the universities. Severely criticising the brutal killing of innocent Christian people, Mr. TH Shah demanded the government to provide the financial assistance to the victim family and also to ensure the independent and across-the-board inquiry of the matter to bring the culprits to the justice.
