Karachi: July 31, 2010. (PCP) In recent polls conducted by Pakistan Christian Post PCP, 99% of Pakistani Christians voted demanding resignation of Federal Minority Minister Shahbaz Bhatti on his failure to protect life and property of minorities in Pakistan. 9141 voted for his resignation while only 111 wanted him to stay in his post which was only 1% ever lowest approval rate for Shahbaz Bhatti, according to PCP polls. Shahbaz Bhatti was nominated by Pakistan Peoples Party PPP government as Federal Minister for Minorities while he was selected as Member National Assembly of Pakistan by PPP on reserved seats for minorities. Shahbaz Bhatti always demanded selection of minorities on reserved seats in parliament instead of election by votes of minorities and used same back door of selection when President General Parvez Musharraf snatched right of direct votes in 2002, national general elections on intimation of Islamic parties to capture Christian vote bank. The incident of violence against Christians and other religious minorities have risen up to 200% during PPP and PML(N) government in Pakistan and particularly in Punjab province of Pakistan while Shahbaz Bhatti acted to promote government policies and never came to rescue victims of violence that justice may be ensured. The sad incidents of killing of blasphemy accused in broad day light, attacks on innocent Christians, destroying of Christian homes, Desecration of Churches, gang rape of Christian women and enforced conversion and burning alive Christians happened in Pakistan during this regime. Dr. Nazir s Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC, said in a statement issued here today that Shahbaz Bhatti must resign now if he listens voice of Pakistani Christians through these polls. “I condemn incident of destroying homes of Christians by Muslim extremists in village Korian and burning alive of seven Christians in Gojra on this day in year 2009” said Nazir Bhatti Pakistan Christian Congress PCC have organized a protest meeting on August 2, 2010, in Washington DC to mark anniversary of Gojra massacre and killing of Christian Brothers in Faisalabad on July 19, 2010.
