Muslim protest to lodge blasphemy charges against Christian on entering mosque

Gujranwala, Pakistan: August 19, 2010. (PCP) Hundreds of angry Muslims blocked GT road on August 18, 2010, for more than two hours to press police to register blasphemy case against a Christian who mistakenly entered in a Mosque in Rajkot, in Gujranwala district of Punjab province in Pakistan. The protest was at crucial time of history of Pakistan when flood devastation have put every citizen to collect relief goods for victims but it was more important for Rajkot Muslims to block the road to stop relief aid vehicles to urge for blasphemy charges against one Christian Bhaloo Masih. According to information, Muslims alleged that Bhaloo Masih was drunk and entered in Mosque and insulted Holy Prophet Mohammad. The Christian Lawyers Foundation Pakistan was approached by local Christians of village Rajkot and to safe them from anger of local Muslim protestors. Mr. Khalid Gill, Chairman of Christian Lawyers Foundation Pakistan informed authorities to avoid any violence against poor Christians. A fact finding team of Christian Lawyers Foundation comprising of Mr.Abid Said, Dr, Jamil, Mr. Khawar Rafiq and Advocate Miss Sumera Shafiq Samuel was dispatched to Gujranwala from Lahore.
