Geneva: September 22, 2010. (PCP) European Organization for Pakistani Minorities this week launched 3 week long hunger strike with a poster campaign outside the United Nations in Geneva during the 15th Session of the Human Rights Council which commenced on 13th Sep till 1st October 2010. The demonstration will continue till the end of the session till 1st October 2010. EOPM will focus during the demonstration on atrocities against minorities in Pakistan. The plight of Christians, Sikhs, hindus and other communities like ahmediyas and shia’s.
The last few months have witnessed unprecedented atrocities on minorities including ruthless attacks on places of worship. EOPM contempt’s this brutal attacks and calls upon the government of Pakistan and International Community to stop the violence against the innocent people.
In protest to the atrocities to the Christians Rev. Saloman Masah and Rev. Tahir Yaqub who arrived from Pakistan have sat down in front of the United Nations to have their plea heard by the International Community.
