HYDERABAD(PAKISTAN),March 13, 2004: The minority employees of Hyderabad Development Authority took out rally from their office and after marching on main roads reached press club here on Saturday where their leaders addressed the rally and demanded for acceptance of their demands.The rally and demonstration was led by Boota Imtiaz Masih, John Chiragh, Younis Murad and Siddiq Nawaz. Addressing rally at press club they said since last many years the minority employees of Hyderabad Development Authority were being continuously subjected to injustices, atrocities and discrimination. They said the promotions of minority employees only were blocked while those belonging to majority were being regularly made which they said manifested the prejudicial policies of the administration against the minorities. They urged on the unity among the minorities so as to realize their rightful place. They demanded from Sindh Governor, Chief Minister and other higher authorities to allow loan ! facilities purchase houses to minority employees, promotion on basis of seniority, allotment of residential plots in housing schemes and end of discriminatory attitude with them. A large number of minority employees of the authority participated in the rally.
MINORITY FAMILY ROBBED: Mevo son of Janoo by case Bagri of minority Hindu community resident of Bhanot near Hala town of Hyderabad district observed token hunger strike in front of press club Hyderabad along with his family against robbery of his 5 buffaloes valued at Rs.200,000 by three influential persons of the area. He told newsmen that Azam Shah son of Piral Shah, Zahid Shah son of Qambar Shah and Mazhar Leghari robbed his family of 5 buffaloes and that Bhanot police was neither registering his report of robbery not taking action against the known robbers. He said now the same persons had threatened him of life if he complained against them. He also complained that Bhanot police was now asking him to keep quite otherwise threatening of implicating him in false cases.Shah is the upper caste among Muslims in Sindh and very influential politically as well as economically while the minorities here are treated in rural areas like slaves and discriminated . The police and administration avoids to help the aggrieved minority family.
MINORITY WOMAN RAPED: Shrimati Ganga Bai resident of Adori Tail near Tando Bago town of Badin district of southern Sindh and belonging to minority Kolhi community has complained that she was raped by three persons Abdul Sattar Mallah, Mooso Khaskheli and Gulan Khaskheli of Muslim majority group. She observed hunger strike in front of press club Hyderabad the other day and told that though Tando Bago police had filed her FIR but have arrested only one accused to complete the formality while the two influential persons were roaming freely and were threatening her of life.She alleged that Tando Bago police had received huge amount as bribe from the accused persons and was trying to mess up the matter.She demanded arrest of the accused and also action against Tando Bago police.
