Karachi: November 21, 2010. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC said that we have serious concern about safety of life of Asia Bibi in jail because blasphemy law victim Robert Danish was killed in security cell of Sialkot jail and Christian Brothers were gunned down in Faisalabad District Courts in broad day light. Asia Bibi was arrested on accusation of defiling name of Prophet Mohammad on June 19, 2009, and sentenced to death by ADSJ Seikhupura in November 8, 2010. According to Pakistan Christian Post PCP, there was no such incident of defiling name of Prophet Mohammad by Asia Bibi but Muslim woman neighbor had dispute and argument with Asia Bibi on her goat going in her fields which turned to quarrel a month before Asia Bibi was accused of blasphemy. The neighbor Muslim woman keeping in view of arguments with Asia Bibi, objected on drinking water in farm where both were working and alleged her of blasphemy. Dr. Nazir Bhatti said “President of Pakistan have constitutional powers to pardon sentence of any inmate but in Asia Bibi case administration is adopting delaying tactics that it may make an excuse that appeal of case is in Lahore High Court” Moreover, Pakistan Christian Congress PCC feared that Asia Bibi is not safe and can be killed in custody in jail or during her appearing in any court. It is on record that Bantu Masih, a victim of blasphemy was killed in a Police Station in Lahore, Naimat Ahmar was killed by poisoning in Lahore District Jail Lahore, Manzoor Masih was gunned down when appearing in Lahore High Court during hearing of blasphemy sentence, Justice Iqbal Bhatti of Lahore High Court was shot dead who acquitted blasphemy victims, Pastor Emmanuel and Rashid were gunned down when appearing in District Courts Faisalabad and Robert Danish was killed in Jail. Pakistan Christian Congress PCC condemned Shahbaz Bhatti, Federal Minister for Minorities, on not taking note of Asia Bibi case when First Information Report FIR was registered against Asia Bibi. “We can not trust Pakistan Peoples Party PPP that its serious to repeal blasphemy law because Shahbaz Bhatti is claiming to introduce revision from 2009, on every forum but non is presented so far” added Nazir Bhatti Nazir Bhatti Said “We appeal government of Pakistan to adopt necessary measure for safty and security of Asia Bibi in jail” Nazir Bhatti also appealed to EU and US administration to award asylum to Asia Bibi and to make arrangements to pull Asia Bibi out of Pakistan immediately because she is not safe in Pakistan.
