PCC Holland Chapter delegation meets EU Human Right Committee for South Asia

Belgium: January 20, 2011. (PCP) A delegation led by Mr. Parvez Iqbal, President of Holland Chapter of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC met with Human Right Committee for South Asia in European Union EU to present situation of human rights violations in Pakistan and to explain grave danger to life of Asia Bibi, sentenced to death on blasphemy accusations. Pakistan Christian Congress PCC had filed a petition for Asylum to Christian Victims of blasphemy law in EU and death sentence to Asia Bibi and meeting was in continuation to said petition. EU Human Right Committee for South Asia was represented by Ms Kristina, Administrator responsible for Human Rights in Pakistan Ms Gonclaves and Administrator in the delegation with South Asian countries Mr. Kamaris heard presentations by Mr. Parvez Iqbal and discussed different views. The PCC delegation discussed blasphemy law and repeal in this controversial law. The delegation informed urgency to pull out Asia Bibi from Pakistan after assassination of Governor Punjab Salman Taseer and reward money announced by Islamic Cleric on head of Christian woman Asia Bibi. The problems in Asylum seeking for Pakistani Christians in EU countries were also raised in this meeting.
