HRFP : "Prayer Day and Campaign" for Asia Bibi Release & total repeal of Blasphemy Laws.

Lahore : February 2, 2011. (PCP) On the call of Human Rights Focus Pakistan ,the Christians observed a "Prayer Day" for the release of Asia bibi & for the total repeal of blasphemy laws on January 30, 2011. The special prayers were offered in Churches, the peaceful protests and meetings were held by different humanitarian & minority right groups . Human Rights Focus Pakistan organized the activists meeting in Lahore for the strategy ,lobbying and uniting the Christians, minority & human rights groups for a strong campaign for Asia's release, total repeal of blasphemy laws and against the persecutions because of religion. Naveed Walter,President for Human Rights Focus Pakistan said , we are hopeful for the change in society.He said, we have to unite at one plat farm to make a unite strategy for a strong campaign for Asia's release.He said,the minority representatives role in assemblies is not a role of true representation . He said, We are hopeful, a day will come soon when our real representation will reach in the Assemblies but it will be by the dual vote electoral system .In present system our representatives enter in assemblies at reserve seats and any one can be a member who approved by any political party who have seats in assemblies. HRFP condemned a Government's system in which the Muslims only are the decision makers .They nominate always a person from Christians and other minorities who obey them blindly. The HRFP's activists urged to Government for the equal rights to minorities in Pakistan .
