Albany, NY: April 15, 2011. The Hope for Pakistani Christian HPC organization of Pakistani Christian Diaspora based in Albany, capital city of New York state, USA, will rally in front Capital Building in Albany on May 6, 2011, to condemn blasphemy law in Pakistan and to pay Tribute to Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti. HPC is nonprofit and nonpolitical organization of Pakistani Christians which aims to raise voice for oppressed Christians in Pakistan in USA and around world. The HPC activists and representatives of different Churches will participate in this protest demonstration on May 6, 2011, at 11:00 AM on Friday, in front of Capital Building on Swan and State Street in Albany to remember sacrifice of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti, who was first Catholic to be Federal Minority Minister of government of Pakistan but gunned down by extremists Islamic elements on March 2, 2011, in Islamabad, on his campaign to revise blasphemy law. There have been dozens of Christians killed on pretext to blasphemy law in Pakistan by hands of extremists Muslim elements while this law is being used to settle scores against Christians or to revenge on enmity by Muslims. There have been more than 1100 cases registered under blasphemy law after 1986, when it was implemented in Pakistan. Mr. Hubert George Bhatti and Younas Yousaf, leaders of Hope for Pakistani Christians HPC have appealed to Pakistani Christians living in Tri-State area to participate in demonstration in large numbers to condemn false cases registered under blasphemy law against Christians in Pakistan.
