PCC will file revised petition in UN for Refugee Status of Pakistani Christians.

Karachi: July 25, 2011. (PCP) Pakistan Christian Congress PCC Central Secretariat have issued a press note here today announcing that Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, Chief of PCC will file revised petition for refugee status for Pakistani Christians with office of Ban ki-Moon, secretary General, United Nations Offices, New York, in August 2011. Pakistan Christian Congress PCC filed a Petition with UN offices to award Refugee Status to Pakistani Christians in 2009, which was put in pending after objections raised by National Commission for Justice and Peace NCJP Lahore and five other umbrella organizations of Church of Pakistan and Catholic Church of Pakistan, claiming that PCC is not sole representative body of millions of Pakistani Christians and not reserve right to petition for such status. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti said that more than dozen Church based organizations in Pakistan, Civil Society activists and Christian Political groups have urged PCC to file a revise petition for refugee status in UN and expressed their confidence and consent to be signatory of revised petition to foil false propaganda of NCJP and other clergy organizations against PCC petition. Nazir Bhatti said that incidents of kidnap of Christian women, their gang rape and enforced conversion to Islam are doubled in 2010-11. The arrest and killing of Christians on pretext to blasphemy law was highest comparing to previous years. The Islamists culprits involved in destroying Christian homes and burning Christian women and children were set free by kangaroo Muslim courts in Pakistan. The Christian Federal Minister Shahbaz Bhatti was gunned downed in Islamabad and Federal Minority Ministry was dissolved which have forced Pakistani Christians to file revised petition. “The Christians in Pakistan not feel them safe and want to flee for safety of life and writing PCC to get refugee status for them” said Nazir Bhatti Nazir Bhatti said that PCC will demand government of Pakistan to open its borders that Christian may leave for India, Afghanistan and China if Blasphemy law is not repealed, Federal Minority Ministry is not restored, enforced conversion and marriage of Christian women to influential Muslims is not stopped and equal rights for minorities are not given.
