Shutter Down strike observed against load shedding on call of JSQM

LARKANA: August 5, 2011. (By Nazir Siyal) Complete shutter down strike was observed by the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) Larkana chapter against the power failure and unannounced load shedding in the month of Ramzan here on Thursday. All the shopping centers, main market, shahi Bazzar, Resham Gali, Jelius Bazzar, Anaj Mandi, Budner Road, Pakistan Chowk and others business centers were rmained closed, while the petrol pumps, CNG stations across the city was also remained close. The vehicular traffic was thin on the roads and JSQM workers took out protest demonstration against the WAPDA SEPCO authorities. JSQM Local leaders Athar Soomro, G. M Abro, Muzafar Sandano, Mehboob Bhatti, Mohammed Brohi and others participate in the protest demonstration. They told that the Sepco officials have not repaired 19 transformers of different localities of Larkana, while unannounced load shedding has made the life miserable of the citizens on the occasion. They said the people were facing hardships during the Sehri and Aftari owing to unavailability the electricity they told. Meanwhile, the Superintendent Engineer SEPCO Larkana Noor Ahmed Dayo along with Xen II Nazir Ahmed Soomro while addressing the press conference said that prevailing load shedding was due to the failure of grid station and technical faults. He said it was the high time of consumption of electricity and load management, so that the several transformers were remains out of order. He said WAPDA SEPCO is new company in its initial phase, we need to take some time to cover deficiencies of load management and other issues.
