London. Mr. Nasir Saeed Co-coordinator of CLAAS-UK (Center for Legal aid and settlement) has raised concern about human

rights violation and growing situation against Christians in Pakistan with Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mrs. Helen Clark requesting her to raise specific issue regarding Pakistani Christian's persecution with General Pervez Musharraf, president of Pakistan, during his visit to New Zealand. Mr. Saeed raised issues like changes in the Blasphemy law, Hadood Law, abduction, rape and forcible conversion to Islam and exempting christens from shariah laws. Writing to the Prime minister about the discriminations against Christians Mr. Saeed emphasized that discrimination and prejudice not only exist at the public level but at the government level too. National Assembly seats have been increased from 207 to 335. Even number of seats for women have been raised from 15 to 60 but 30 years old minority seats still remain at only 10. Christian's seats are only 4 (out of total seats 10) which have been filled by selection instead o f election resulting in eliminating the representation of minorities who rightfully deserve their representation at National Assembly. There is no Christian Minister in the Government, no Christian is working on the key posts in either government or semi-government departments, no Christian is appointed as an ambassador in any country, no Christian is working as Judge in the High court, Supreme Court, not even in the lower courts in the country. All of these prove that religious intolerance and prejudice not only prevail in the fundamentalists' religious political parties but also with liberal, democratic and moderate political parties and enlighten governments too.
