Faisalabad: September 20, 2011. (PCP) Arooj-e-Mariam Catholic Church Faisalabad organized a seminar on the theme of “Peacebuilding in Pakistan: Role of State, Civil Society and People” to celebrate “International Day of Peace” at Centre for Peace and Harmony in Faisalabad, which was joined by more than 100 people from different school of thoughts.
The speakers included: Father Nisar Barkat, Director National Commission for Justice and Peace NCJP, Haji Akram Ansari, Member National assembly of Pakistan, Joel Amir Boby, Member Punjab Assembly, Mr. Peter Jacob, Executive Secretary- NCJP, Father Aftab James Paul, Mrs. Amina Zamaan (SAP Pakistan), Mr. Sadaqat Sardar (CARITAS Fsd) and Mollana Zikriya.
The main purpose of the seminar was to highlight the role of state, civil society and people in peacebuilding in Pakistan.
