Karachi: November 24, 2011. (PCP) MPA Saleem Khurshid Khokhar, Chairman, Standing Committee on Minorities Affairs, Sindh Assembly and President, All Pakistan Minorities Alliance Sindh thanked all the Journalists and Media Persons for supporting the cause of Christians and voiced the grievances pertaining to list issued by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in which they blindly declared the words / name of “Jesus Christ” in the Ban list of words for SMS. The concerned officers of PTA violated Article 19 – Freedom of Speech and Article 25 – All equal before the law of Constitution of Pakistan 1973, as well Section 298-A and 295-A of Pakistan Penal Code which not only hurt the religious feelings of Christians but even that of Muslim brothers. Although this is a fit case for Criminal as well Constitutional Proceedings against Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s Officers but keeping in view the teachings and preaching of Jesus Christ I forgive them for this blasphemes act. I am confident that the bureaucrats and responsible officers of the Government would refrain to commit such blasphemes blunders and refuse such list and letters in future. I would like to thank Mr. Agha Siraj Durrani, Minister for Local Government and Mr. Ayaz Soomro, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Shazia Marri, Minister for Information and Mrs. Shahla Raza, Deputy Speaker for their support who promised to solve the matter with the Federal Government as soon as possible.
