Pakistani Christian meet to safe ST. Andrews Church Karachi.

Karachi: December 21, 2011. This meeting  was convened by the Parish Committee of St. Andrew’s Church to condemn Bishop Sadiq Daniel’s public announcement to commercialize the St. Andrew’s Church at Saddar Karachi.  In this meeting several Christians Leaders, consisting of Youth, Political Leaders, Clergy, Women Leaders participated and unanimously condemned the act on the part Biship Sadiq Daniel and passed unanimously the following resolutions.  1)   The representative meeting strongly condemned Biship Sadiq Daniel’s policy pertaining to commercialization and construction of shops / trade centres, in and around St. Andrew’s Church, Saddar, Karachi and appeal to the Government of Sindh that all Churches and Worship Places of Minorities including burial places / graveyards should not be allowed for commercialize purpose.  2)       This meeting strongly condemned Bishop Sadiq Daniel of Karachi Diocese, Church of Pakistan who has become a self styled Moderator of Church of Pakistan. This meeting congratulate newly elected office bearers of Synod Church of Pakistan i.e. Moderator Church of Pakistan Rt. Rev. Bishop Samuel Azriah, Deputy Moderator Humphrey, Secretary  Synod Imran and this meeting reposed full confidence in them.  This house fully condemned Rt. Rev. Sadiq Daniel Bishop of Karachi Diocese’s intrigues for dividing and breaking the Church Union of Church of Pakistan for his own interest. It was stressed in the meeting that the Christian of Karachi would not allow this divide.  The house appealed to the Moderator Church of Pakistan Bishop Samuel Azriah to take appropriate action against the elements particularly Bishop Sadiq Daniel for breaking the Church Union.  3)         This representative meeting appealed to the Moderator Church of Pakistan Rt. Rev. Samuel Azriah to solve the problems of Local Christians of Balochistan according to their own wishes.  4)         This representative meeting strongly condemned Bishop Sadiq Daniel conspiracy by which he had stopped the Annual Convention / Prayer Services at St. Andrews Church Saddar Karachi and fully support the Management of St. Andrews Church to restore and hold the Annual Convention / Prayer Services at St. Andrews Church.  On this occasion, Saleem Khursheed Khokhar MPA Sindh, Mr. Parvaiz Taj Bhatti, Professor Inayat Dean, Albert Massey, Griffin Naz, Tariq,  Qaisar, Babar, Retired Colonel Massey and others addressed the people who participated in this meeting. These leaders condemned the unlawful acts and omissions of Bishop Sadiq Daniel of Karachi Diocese pertaining to commercialization of St. Andrews Church as well siphoning the funds of Churches and its institutions and misappropriated the same for his personal use.  On this occasion Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar expressed his views and assure the gathering that the present Government would not allow such unlawful and illegal act pertaining to the church and worship places properties and assured the gathering that every inch of land of Worship Places and Minority Institutions would be protected.  He informed the house that the Members of Diocese Council of Karachi are in our contact but it is a known fact that being employees of the Bishop Sadiq Daniel they are mum and speechless. We hope that God Almighty would break their silence to protect the Church which is house of God and one day their conscience would compel them to support our cause.   The two poets Messrs Kenneth Baba and Younus Right recited their poems pertaining to the above issues and they were applauded by the people who were present in the gathering.     This meeting was closed with prayer by Presbyter Incharge of St. Andrews Church Rev. Yousuf Fazal.
