Bhagvath Geeta Should Not Be Banned, Isai Mahasangh Meets Governor Of Madhya Pradesh And Writes to Pope

Bhopal, India: December 21, 2011. (PCP) Today a delegation of  Isai Mahasagh(IMS) met the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Shri. Ram Naresh Yadav, and handed over a memorandum addressed to the President of India. Isai Mahasangh has requested the Presidnet of India to intervene with the Government of Russia to stop any attempt to ban the Hindu Holy Scripture Bhagvath Geeta. Jerry Paul, General Secretary of Isai Mahasangh, it is clear that the Russians are not aware of the importance of this religious scripture, the teachings and values it upholds and above all its place in the life of millions Indians.  In this regard Isai Mahasangh also has written a letter to the His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, requesting His Holiness to intervene with the Government of Russia and the religious heads of that Country. The memorandum submitted to Pope has also praised the efforts taken Pope recently through Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, President of the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue by initiating dialogue with heads of various religions of India. The recent efforts made by Pope by organizing inter-religious meetings in Assisi, Italy is also being praised. These efforts of the Pope can bear more fruits if His Holiness take up this matter with the Government of Russia.  The letter requests Pope to stop any move to destabilize the move to establish peace in the world.  The letter has been send to the Vatican Embassy in New Delhi.  The Delegation included Jerry Paul, M.P State General Secretary of IMS, Richard Disilva, Administrator of IMS, John Anthony, Secretary Head Quarter, IMS, Anand Francis, Vice President of NGO Department, IMS and Fr. Anand Muttungal, Coordinator of IMS. The copy of the memorandum is also being sent to Presidnet of Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India, Presidnet of Catholic Bishops Council of Madhya Pradesh and Head of the Orthodox Church in Russia(Through Russian Embassy)
