CCA and EAC host youth seminar on their role in community

Canada: February 20, 2012. (PCP) Evangelical Asian Church and Canadian Christian Association (CCA) jointly hosted a very successful Youth Seminar on Saturday, February 18, 2012, in Brampton Ontario. The seminar focused on “Role of Youth in Strengthening the Community, Country, and how to get involved and make positive impact in the Political System.” Over fifty Colleges and Universities students participated in the seminar. It was started with a prayer by Sisal Pevez Young, four years graduate in theology and a Canadian National Cricket team player, followed by the Canadian National Anthem. Augustine James, director of nursing, and master of ceremony, energized the group with some exercises to demonstrate the power of groups; he also highlighted how youth could get involved and influence in the development of communities. Sharoon Gill, a young lawyer, discussed how youth can build their future and impact the country to make it strong. Mark Dotzert, National Counsellor of the Conservative Party of Canada, addressed the group about the importance of participating in the political and public services processes. Furthermore, he educated the youth about the various opportunities on how to get involved in political process. In addition, he shared inspiring stories on how various people were involved in the political systems to bring positive changes. He ended with making a commitment to help the youth, if needed. Tim Tabassum Iqbal, Advisor of Evangelical Asian Church, also addressed the group and highlighted the importance of capitalizing on various opportunities. Obaid Chaudry Prof., CMA, CA, Past president CCA, spoke about the importance of success, getting involved, setting goals and importance of seeking help and advice, when needed. John Gill, President CCA, thanked all the speakers and also mentioned Shahbaz Sindhu, board member of Evangelical Asian Church, Waseem Iqbal, executive director of Blue Green System, Amber Obeid, Tabassum Iqbal, and Obaid Chaudry for organizing and making the event possible. He especially thanked the Youth for their active participation.
