LDHS elects body for year 2012-13

LARKANA: February 26, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) Larkano District Historical Society (LDHS) elections or the year 2012-13 was held here at Knowledge Centre Larkana on Sunday. The new office bearers of LDHS were among Mohammad Yusuf Shaikh President, Jam Jamali Vice president, Mukhtiar Samo Secretary, Fyaz Latif Joint Secretary, Dr. Bashir Ahmed Shaad Treasurer and Rizwan Gul Information Secretary said in a press statement. The newly elected cabinet announced that the Larkano History Conference will be held on 18th March 2012, in which the prominent scholars would attend and present their research papers on various aspects of the history of Larkano. On that occasion, a book on Larkana will also be launched and stalls of books published by Larkano Historical Society would also be arranged, where the number of civil society and common men attend as well approached the media to highlight the history of Larkano they told. Meanwhile, Asad Khuhro the son of veteran politician Pasha Khuhro the brother of Hamida Khuhro former Sindh Minister was elected as the chieftain of Khuhro community in a large number of notables and chieftains of other communities here on Sunday. A large number of notables and chieftains in a traditional ceremony held here by the Khuhro Community at Pilot Higher Secondary School Larkana and worn him the steps of turban (Pag) as Sardar of community. Asad Khuhro, thanked all the notables, chieftains of other communities and specially the Khuhro community for respecting him as community Sardar. He vowed to serve their people matters, proper issues and their resolutions of health and education problems as well the clashes among them without any discrimination. He said his priority to provide proper counseling for their issues and redresses he said.
