Sikandar Masih died due to inhaling toxic gas on duty laid to rest

Islamabad: March 19, 2012. (PCP) CDA worker Skindar Masih who died five days ago due to inhaling toxic gas coming out of a gutter was buried here at the Christian Graveyard Monday evening. Hundreds of CDA workers attended his funeral held at Hill Road F-6/2. Convener World Minorities Alliance J Salik also attended the funeral. It may be mentioned that J Salik had strongly protested against Skindsar Masih’s tragic death demanding provision of safety equipment to sanitations workers and payment of adequate compensation to the family of the deceased. Chairman CDA Farkhand Iqbal took prompt action and accepted all demands made by J Salik. Addressing the funeral gathering J Salik praised the positive attitude of Chairman CDA and expressed the hope that Chairman’s worker-friendly action had kindled a new ray of among all CDA employees. J Salik said officers like Farkhand Iqbal had enlivened his hope in the bright future of Pakistan. “I feel proud to say that now Pakistan is heading towards a right direction,” he observed.
