Veteran Hindu Professors demand protection of minorities in Pakistan

LARKANA: April 3, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) A minority community veteran professor’s husband and wife, a Child Specialist Dr. Bhgwandas and Gynacologist Dr. Bhagunt Devi in a press conference on Tuesday demanded of the protection of minorities in Sindh. They said that in different parts of Sindh minorities were facing hardships and threat of kidnapping for ransom and Hindu Community girl now abducted and demanded ransom is a new challenge for Hindu Community. They said that the culprits tried to create a panic among the minorities to leave their motherland, they want take their objectives by kidnappings of Hindu girls from Jacobabad or Ghotki, but they will not bow before them. They appealed President of Pakistan, Prime Minister, Chief Minister Sindh to protect the minorities and take action against the police and administration for protection. They further told that their properties and land were occupied by famous land grabbers in Larkana and fake NOCs were issued by the District Administration but no one to take notice of the matter. Dr. Bhagwandas told that the suvey numbers 634, 52, 51 were occupied by the influential with the consent of revenue department he told. He said former DCO Mr. Yasseen Shar was involved in the heunius crimes of corruption and fake NOCs, which were proved now. He also told that they will file a case against all the culprits and take them to the court he said. Meanwhile, Journalist Community strongly condemned the brutal attacks and fake cases against Sindh Journalists, while police protecting culprits, the administration failed to protect the media men in different parts of Sindh here on Tuesday. On the occasion, Sindh Sahafi Sangat strongly condemned the attack on senior Journalists and fake cases. The protest reallies were led by Noor Sindhi, Nazir Ahmed Siyal, Zamir Hussain, Abdul Jabbar, Sham Lal and others in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and other parts of Sindh. Journalists of various districts chanted slogans agasint the brutal attacks on media men as well fake cases on different parts of journalists. The protest meetings and rallies were taken out in different districts and tehsils against the failures of Sindh govnement administration. On Tuesday, journalists also enraged over a rude behaviour of administration and information department for neglecting working journalists for proper information and fascilation during 33rd death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto here at Garhi Khuda Bux and Naudero. They also announced to bycott of the government news if the department not changed its attitude to the working media men they demanded. Protesting media personals also demanded of the Chief Minister Sindh Sayed Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh Minister for Information and other Party leaders to enquire the neglecting the working journalists of English newspapers of Larkana. They demanded that the President of Pakistan, Prime Minister Sayed Yousuf Raza Gillani, and Sindh Chief Minister Sayed Qaim Ali Shah should take strict action against the culprits and resolve the genuine issues of media persons in Sindh
