Meanwhile, Hundreds of homeless tenants and slum dwellers staged a big protest rally outside the National Press Club Monday demanding allotment of 5 marla and 80 yard residential plots in rural and urban areas respectively as per announcement by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilinai on March 30, 2008.
They said the Prime Minister had made a firm commitment that homeless tenants and slum dwellers would be allotted residential plots within 100 days of his announcement, but even after the passage of four years he had yet to honor his commitment.
Addressing the protesters Convener World Minorities Alliance J Salik said Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was not capable of honoring any promise. He asked the protesters to pray that God sends some other Messiah to solve their problems.
