14th anniversary of Martyr Bishop John Joseph observed in Karachi

Pakistan: May 7, 2012. (PCP) A 14th Death Anniversary Meeting under the auspices of All Pakistan Minorities Alliance, Karachi Division was convened at Awami Church, Essa Nagri to condole and remember the great sacrifice by Bishop of Faisalabad John Joseph. On this occasion Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar, President, All Pakistan Minorities Alliance Sindh, Member of Provincial Assembly Sindh & Chairman Standing Committee on Minorities Affairs Sindh said that in Pakistan particularly Christian Religious Minorities are targeted and falsely accused in Blasphemy Law by the Muslim community only to settled their personal scores and under the garb of this blasphemy law they easily take control and occupy the valuable properties of the Christians. This black blasphemy law had been used in the name of religion and so far the Christian youth have been martyred and brutally killed by the members of the extremists. The Bishop John Joseph of Faisalabad had been fighting against the discriminatory and black law of Blasphemy; it is now 14 years ago that he laid down his life against this black law which is being used by the extremists. His martyred is a beacon light for the Christian religious minority in Pakistan and unite them against this discriminatory law. On this occasion Rev. Shahid Saghar, Secretary of St. Andrews Christian Convention Griffon Naz and Mr. Samuel Xavier Advocate also express their views on the martyr of Bishop John Joseph and prayed homage to his scarifies made for the Christian Community. Mr. Yaqoob Sharif Gill was stage secretary and thousands of people attended this Death Anniversary of the great Martyr Bishop John Faisalabad.
