Karachi: May 10, 2012. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC have expressed grave concern on neglecting demand of Separate Christian Province of millions of Punjabi Christians on division of Punjab in a resolution in Punjab Assembly to divide Punjab in to more Muslim provinces called as Central Punjab, Southern Punjab province and Bahawalpur province. Pakistan Christian Congress PCC demanded formation of Separate Christian Province on division of Punjab as a federal administrative unit in 1992, and was campaigning for it on every national forum but Punjab Assembly ignored presence of millions of Punjabi Christians and adopted a resolution on May 9, 2012, for formation of new Muslim provinces on ethnic grounds which negates ideology of Pakistan. Christians are second biggest population of Punjab who are facing violence, persecution and oppression by hands of majority of Muslim population of Punjab after formation of Pakistan. The Christians of sub-continent of India supported Pakistan Movement and formed Pakistan and enabled Punjab to fall in lot of Pakistan but Muslims after independence of Pakistan in 1947, scratched role of Christians from history of Pakistan and never gave them their due share in resources of Pakistan. The poor Muslims of sub-continent of India captured all resources of Pakistan and became rich and richest in Pakistan while Christian became poor and poorer. The Muslims in Pakistan blocked doors of higher education of Christians in Pakistan and percentage of doctors and engineers in Christian nation became null till 1970. After 1973, the Christians were turned to be 2nd class citizens in constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and job opportunities for Christian youth in government and semi-government institutions were totally banned. When Sharia law was imposed in Pakistan by Zia-ul-Haq, then violence against Christians became state weapon. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti said “The Muslims are enforcedly converting Christian women, blasphemy cases are being lodged to revenge Christian men and women, Churches are being attacked, Christian worshipers are killed with guns, Christian homes are being destroyed and Social justice is being denied to them in Muslim majority society. In such circumstances 20 million Pakistan are feeling insecure and fearing genocide in Islamic Republic of Pakistan” Nazir Bhatti said that it is shameful for Christian tools of Muslim religious groups who issued statement against me on demand of Separate Christian Province and termed demand of Christian province to be traitor act. Nazir Bhatti said to those so-called Christians leaders that now Muslims are making their more Muslim provinces in Pakistan and where Christians are standing, we are more divided in Pakistan and will be easy target of Muslims in new provinces. PCC chief warned Punjab government and Government of Pakistan to give Punjabi Christians their due share in land of Punjab unless Pakistani Christian Youth will be forced for right action. Nazir Bhatti said that Punjabi Christian cannot live with Punjabi Muslim anymore and will keep their struggle for their enclave in Punjab where they may enjoy due equal rights and opportunities of life which they have been denied in Pakistan.
