Pakistani Christian Diaspora in USA to observe 14th anniversary of Martyr Bishop John Joseph

Philadelphia: May 12, 2012. (PCP) The leaders and leading organizations of Pakistani Christian Diaspora in USA will gather in St. Williams Church on Rising Sun Avenue in Philadelphia city of Pennsylvania State on May 13, 2012, at 4; 00 PM to mark 14th anniversary of Martyr Bishop John Joseph. The first Punjabi Bishop in Catholic Church of Pakistan, Bishop John Joseph of Faisalabad Dioceses was found dead of gunshot in head in premises of Session Courts of Sahiwal city in Punjab province of Pakistan, at about 9;00 PM, on May 6, 1998. Martyr Bishop John Joseph had addressed a protest meeting in Sahiwal city on same evening which was attended by thousands of Christians for release of a blasphemy victim Ayub Masih, sentenced to life in imprisonment. Bishop John Joseph was only voice against controversial blasphemy law on national and international forums which was disliked by government of Pakistan. Rev. Fr. Isaac Dominic will lead 14th anniversary of Martyr Bishop John Joseph in St. Williams Church in Philadelphia who is pastor in charge of Pakistani Catholic Christians congregation. Fr. Isaac Dominic is Pakistani Catholic Reverend who is from Christian village Khushpur which is also birth place of Bishop John Joseph. Pak American Christian Federation PACF has organized 14th anniversary celebration of Martyr Bishop John Joseph in Philadelphia in which Christian organizations from NY, NJ, CT and DL are participating. Mr. Thomas Bhatti, Chairman of PACF and Ch. Rashid Akhter, President of PACF will lead display procession of portrait of Martyr Bishop John Joseph during memorial services in St. Williams Church while Dr. Nazir S Bhatti will shed light on life of Bishop John Joseph in services in church. The dinner will be served to guests from other states at residence of Mr. Thomas Bhatti after prayer services of Martyr Bishop John Joseph where PCA President Zeba Gill, PACA President Mr. Manny Alam and other leaders of PACF will speak on life of Martyr Bishop.
