14 children die in hospital within 4 days

LARKANA: July 27, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) Another neonate died admitted in ICU, death toll reached 14 in four days at CMC Children Hospital, while three children were lost their lives yesterday due to allegedly negligence of staff and doctors. As per reports, on Friday morning one month new born baby son of Gulzar Khoso resident of Khairpur Nathan Shah died and another was serious. Three children were also died a day before among 3 year old Abdul Wahab son of Awais Sadhayo, resident of Naudero city, 3 year old Asiya and Adnan (2) also died in Children Hospital owing to allegedly negligence of Doctors and Hospital staff during the 48 hours. The total numbers of 14 innocent children and newborn babies have been died in children hospital due to complete negligence and carelessness of concerned authorities. There was apparently cause of death was prolonged load shedding and unavailability of Oxygen cylinders and failure to arrange the generator facility in the hospital attendants alleged. MNA Faryal Talpur and higher authorities took serious notice of the death toll of children and ordered Deputy Commissioner Larkana Abdul Aleem Lashari along with Medical Superintendent CMC Hospital Larkana Dr Ashfaue Ahmed Memon to investigate the issues. They visited the deferent wards of Children Hospital Larkana and inquired the health of admitted patients. On the occasion, three members team has been constituted to investigate and reports, while death of children in hospital have confirmed by the authorites and said M.S CMC Hospital Larkana has constituted 3 members committee to investigate the matter, the inquiry team will submit its findings. Meanwhile, civil society and citizens, human rights organizations and representatives of various fields have expressed concern over the increasing mortality rate in Children Hospital Larkana and held responsible to the Medical Suprintendent and concerned authorities of CMC Hospital, called for complete investigation of death toll of children.
