Karachi: August 28, 2012. (PCP) Mr. Saleem Khursheed and Mr. Pitambar Sewani, Members of Provincial Assembly Sindh in Pakistan are representing religious minorities in the August House of Sindh Assembly wherein they are very vocal on the issues and problems of the religious minorities in Sindh as well as in Pakistan. In this respect, Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar being very vocal on the problems and issues of religious minorities and had been persuading their issues in the Sindh Assembly as well in the Media forcefully. He has strongly condemned the discriminatory laws such as Blasphemy Law whereby the already arrested women a Christian lad by the name of Asiya Bibi and a minor Christian Girl Rimsha Masih have been falsely accused and asked for their early acquittal unconditionally. Owing to his strong support to such blasphemy cases and forced conversion, Saleem Khursheed Khokhar, Representative of Minorities in the Sindh Assembly is continuously receiving death threats from various quarters and therefore now the Secretary of Sindh Assembly Mr. Hadi Bux Buriro has written a letter to Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Sindh, Home Department Karachi and the Inspector General of Police Sindh Karachi vide letter No. PS/LEGIS-G18/2012 dated 16-08-2012 (letter attached) for provision of Governmental Security to Saleem Khursheed Khokhar and Mr. Pitambar Sewani, MPAs Sindh. It is pertinent to mention here that Shahbaz Bhatti, Federal Minister for Minorities Government of Pakistan who was against this blasphemy law was struggling for its for its abolishment was brutally murdered by the unknown extremists. Not only this Federal Minister was killed by but also the Governor of Punjab Mr. Salman Taseer killed by his own guard who had extended supports for the acquittal a Christian Lad Asiya Bibi. It is a matter of concern that the Minority MPAs of Sindh Assembly are receiving death threats from the unknown extremists.
