A Writ seeking cancellation of sale and registration of a Criminal case under relevant sections of law for Criminal Breach of Trust and fraudulently selling church properties has been filed in the Honorable High Court of Lahore at Lahore by the Church Properties Bachao Tehrik against the Anglican Primate of the Church of Pakistan (United) in order to safeguard the Church properties in Pakistan. Over the last several years the Anglican Primate Rt. Rev. Dr. Alexander John Malik has been selling church properties vested in the name of Lahore Diocesan Trust Association without lawful authority. The Anglican Communion as well as the Honorable Archbishop of Canterbury were asked time and again in vain to look into the allegations against the Primate but instead of investigating the matter these offices of His Grace the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Church of Pakistan Mission Partners Forum started defending and abetting the Primate. The members of the Church of Pakistan during the last three years wrote hundreds of letters and requests to His Grace the Archbishop of Canterbury and other concerned Church authorities to appoint a Commission OR ask the British High Commission in Pakistan to look into the fraudulent sales executed by the Anglican Primate but since no interest shown on their part, the members had to move the Honorable Court for action against the Anglican Primate and protection of Church Properties. The Writ seeking cancellation of sale executed on 31st March 1989 between Rt. Rev. Dr. Alexander John Malik & others and Mr. Asad Farooq s/o Abdul Hakeem in respect of church land at Plots numbers 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106 and 107 in Block E/I, Gulberg III, Lahore situated besides F. C. College, Lahore (measuring 107 Kanals) has been filed against all parties involved in the criminally executed sale of the church property, wherein the Government of Pakistan through Secretary, Minority Affairs and Inspector General Police, Punjab have been made Performa Respondents to ensure implementation of Court orders and registration of criminal case against illegal executants for fraudulently selling church properties and Criminal Breach of Trust.
