Pakistani Christians are victim of Target Killing and Islamic Extremism

Karachi: September 17, 2012. (PCP) The Central Executive Council of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC in a meeting expressed grave concern on Target Killing of Christians in Essa Nagri, Karachi. The Muslim extremists enter in Essa Nagri, a Christian colony in Karachi East and demand “Bhatha” (an illegal tax) from Christian shopkeepers and on denial open fire on them to harass them but when they report it to police, they become target and killed. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC expressed his grief on target killing of Nasir Masih and Rafi Masih on September 15, 2012, in Essa Nargi by the hands of Muslim extremists and condoled with families of victims. “The PIB Colony Police Station officers are protecting Muslim target killers and drug pushers and not arresting the culprits who are continuously killing and terrorizing Christians of Essa Nagri “said Nazir Bhatti Nazir Bhatti said that there are 6 target killings and 11 injuries of Christians with bullets only in one Christian colony Essa Nagri in month of August-September 2012, but none of Muslim attacker is arrested which have created impression among millions of Christians living in metropolitan Karachi that government is not sincere in providing them security nor to ensure justice. PCC Chief said that Muslim attackers and target killers of Essa Nagri are Pashtun and its responsibility of Awami National Party ANP which claims to be sole representative of ethnic Pashtuns in Karachi to take note of it but ANP is complete silent on victimization of Christians. Nazir Bhatti said “I will invite attention of Senator Shahi Syed who is leader of ANP in Sindh to take notice of target killing of Christians of Essa Nagri from hands of Pashtuns and act to protect Christians at an earliest” Nazir Bhatti urged Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to provide security to Christians of Essa Nagri who are victim of target killing, land mafia and drug mafia.
