Nonpolitical perspective on the situation of religious minorities of Pakistan

Toronto: October 5, 2012. (PCP) Canadian Christian Association CCA is organizing a moot on October 7, 2012, at 4: 30 PM at Evangelical Asian Church to greet Commander (Rtd) Saleem Akhtar Mathew, where former Pakistan Forces Christian officer will also speak on situation of minorities in Pakistan. Commander (Rtd) Saleem Akhter Served Pakistan Navy for 28 years and offered diplomatic duties as Defense Attaché at Embassy of Pakistan in Sultanate of Oman. Commander Akhter also remained as Deputy Secretary of Defense at the Ministry of Defense Pakistan. He is Founder of Military Christian Fellowship which is operating internationally and presently is the Vice President of the Military Christian Fellowship to oversee 8 countries i.e. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. He operates a Worldwide Prayer Group “Prayer One” on net where God’s people around the world pray for at least one minute at 12 noon (local time) for the persecuted church, as such 24/7 people are praying for this cause. He is a strong believer that first step towards economic uplift is education. On self-help basis he runs two education centers under PollyRose Initiative for Community Education (PRICE) in Sialkot and Sargodha. After the Gojra incidenct Commander was instrumental to setup a 200 children school for the Gojra Diocese. He helped CCA to connect to the mother of Shazia (a poor Christian girl who was killed by an influential lawyer in Lahore) and handover the CCA’s financial support to them.
