SHEIKHUPURA, Pakistan: A 25-year-old Christian man remains in critical condition after being shot during a violent altercation in a
Karachi: December 23, 2012. (PCP) under the auspicious of Global Human Rights Association Alliance had arranged a Christmas Event today 22-12-2012 at Chaudhary Iftikhar Hall, High Court of Sindh. The event was led by Coordinator GHRAA and MPA Sindh Saleem Khursheed Khokhar, along with Christian Senior Advocates Daniel Bux, Shahbaz Sothra, Samuel Xavier, Yaqoob Masih and others. This gesture was taken to generate harmony among lawyers of different faiths and to convey a positive message that people of different faiths in legal fraternity.
Many people had appreciated this initiative and view it in a positive direction to faster a good environment which is needed at the moment in our country and this event is the first of its kind in the history of Sindh High Court as many people said.
Advocate Mustafa Lakhani, President Sindh High Court Bar Council and Advocate Yousuf Molvi, Advocate Yasin Azad former President Supreme Court Bar Council, Senior Advocate Akhtar Hussain, Advocate Riaz Ahmad Massan, Advocate Muhammad Iqbal Adeel, Advocate Khalil-ur-Rehman Abbbasi Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan and General Secretary All Pakistan Anjuman Etthad-e-Abbasia were also among the participants and there were significant presence of lawyers attended the event.
Advocate Mustafa Lakhani, President Sindh High Court Bar Council had expressed his views that next year Sindh High Court Bar Council will arrange this event formally.
Similar event were arranged in Lower Court (Karachi Bar Association) at Shuhda-e-Punjab Hall, City Court Karachi. Newly Elected President Advocate Naeem Qureshi, Kashif Secretary General of Karachi Bar Association and Christians and Muslims lawyers were amongst the participants. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar MPA Sindh was also present and delivered a message over interfaith harmony, also 2 minutes of silence were observed over the demise of a Senior Christian Advocate Munir Randhawa (Late).
