Lahore: March 22, 2013. (PCP) The Sharing Life Ministry Pakistan, the Voice Society and Council for Youth Advisors organized a candlelight vigil in front of Lahore Press Club to the mark of peaceful protest against Joseph Colony incident. The peaceful protesters prayed for peaceful Pakistan, peace songs were sung and the protesters also voiced peace slogans for the development and safety of Pakistan. The protesters expressed that they are patriotic citizens of Pakistan and are equal citizens. The peaceful participants expressed grief concerns over the violence against Christian residents of Joseph Colony.
The purpose of this peaceful candlelight vigil was to give a peace message to our Muslims brethren that Christians are peaceful and wholeheartedly respecting the religion of Islam and never ever think to defile the name of Holy Prophet. The candlelight vigil was leading by Mr. Sohail Johnson (Chairman Sharing Life Ministry Pakistan SLMP) including Mr. Irfan Barkat (Human Rights Activist), Ms. Aneeqa Maria Advocate High Court (Chief Coordinator the Voice Society), Mr. Nadeem Anthony Advocate (Council Member Human Rights Commission of Pakistan), Yasmin Irfan (Women rights activist) and Javed Gill (President Council of Youth Advisors COYA) addressed the candlelight vigil and a large number of Christians and Muslims attended the peaceful candlelight vigil and prayed for peace, religious harmony and tolerance in Pakistan.
