Christian 3, Hindu 5 and 1 Parsi successful in Selection in National Assembly of Pakistan

Karachi: May 28, 2013. (PCP) The Christians of Provinces of Sindh and KPK have no representation in National Assembly of Pakistan in Election 2013, while Hindu bag 5 seats, Christian 3 and 1 Parsi under Selection system which empowers Muslim political parties to distribute 10 reserved seats for minorities in National Assembly. The 5 Hindu and 1 Parsi selected in National Assembly are from Punjab and Sindh Provinces of Pakistan while 2 Christians are from Balochistan province and from Punjab Province of Pakistan where Christians are number two after Muslim majority have only 1 Christian selected for National assembly. Dr. Darshan, Bhawan Das, Isphanyar M. Bhandara, Tariq Christopher Qaiser and Khalil George are Selected from list of nominated submitted with Election Commission of Pakistan by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Group PML (N) Ramesh Lal from Pakistan Peoples Party PPP, Lal Chand from Pakistan Tehreek Insaf PTI, Sanjay Perwani from Muthida Quomi Movement MQM and Aasiya Nasir from Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam JUI (F) The Election Commission of Pakistan ECP announced here today announced distribuion of 60 reserved seats of Women and 10 reserved seats of Minorities among different Muslim parties in parliament which allocated 6 seats of minorities to PML (N), 1 Seat to PPP, 1 seat to PTI, 1 Seat to MQM and 1 Seat to JUI (F). The Selection System under Joint Electorate imposed by former dictator General Pervez Musharraf in 2002 elections have reduced representation of Christians in Pakistan. In 1970 national general elections Christians had 6 Seats in National assembly of Pakistan under constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan during ZA Bhutto rule of PAkistan Peoples Party. In 1985 national general elections Dictator General Zial-ul Haq distributed 10 reserved seats as 4 for Christians, 4 for Hindus, 1 for Ahmadi Muslims and 1 for Parsi, Sikh and other religious minorities.
