Blasphemy victim Savan Masih case hearing in jail

Lahore; May 30, 2013. (PCP) CLAAS lawyers moved an application before the concerned authorities and requested for the jail trail of Savan Masih the accused of blasphemy at Joseph colony Badami Bagh Lahore which was accepted. On May 15, 2013, it was the first hearing of Savan in the prison for the charge frame. Mr. Joseph Francis MBE (National Director) along with CLAAS staff Asher Sarfraz and team of lawyers comprised on Mr. Naeem Shakir advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan and leading lawyer, Mr. Tahir Bashir advocate High Court, Mr. Nasir Anjum Suba advocate High Court was present in the camp Jail Lahore for court hearing and appeared before the honorable Judge along with Savan Masih. The learned Session’s Judge Ghullam Murtiza ordered for charge frame against Savan Masih, later the court was adjourned till June 12, 2013 for evidences from complainant side. After court hearing CLAAS team met with Savan Masih and assured him for full support. Savan Masih said thanks to CLAAS for the support for his family as he is worried about his wife and minors. He requested the team for prayers for his protection and his early release after the fair trial in the court. Therefore we ask your daily prayers for Savan and his family.
