Pakistan: July 3, 2013. (LEAD) Today 2 July 2013,Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill National Director of LEAD hold meeting with Rev. Saleem Gill DS Pattoki and Rev. Akram Gill DS Clarkabad (Church Of Pakistan Lahore Diocese) and discussed the issue of decreasing strength of Christian in the record of NADRA. The Number of Christian Voters Decreased in Voter List of Election 2013. It's very important to bring in the notice of international media the facts that Christians are 13 % of the population of Pakistan. We claim that in 1947 at the independence of Pakistan 5 % quota in government services was only allocated to Christians because they were 5 % of the population of Pakistan. The issue of census of Christians has been raised on all forums by the Christians of Pakistan because the Muslim majority adopted measures to hide the true figures of Christians in Pakistan to avoid their due share in the state resources. In 1971, when East Pakistan emerged as new state of Bangladesh, the majority wing of Muslim population in Pakistan, the population percentage of Christians raised up to 10 % of population of Pakistan.( Thanks PCC) Why Did Number of Christian Decrease in Election 2013? There are many reasons due to which the number of Christian is rapidly decreasing in Pakistan. Persecution is on high level and Discrimination: Why due to this number is decreasing? Double face of Christian. This is a Christian woman whose husband converted to Islam during his job so they were Muslims in the eyes of his colleagues and they also changed their record of NADRA as Muslim from Christian. After his death she got one another ID card on her real Christian name and with her Christian DATA OF NADRA. Her Children also possessed Christian Data in NADRA, when both ID Cards expired she went to respective department for taking her pension but they refused saying to get renew ID card when she went to NADRA they refused to issue renew ID Card because she already issued one another ID Card. She came to us for legal assistance in this matter. This is not only family there are a number of Christian families who are living in Pakistan in double face. In Last Punjab Government one famous incident took place in this kind of issue when MPA Rana Asif Mahmood was summoned by the courts to answer a petition seeking his disqualification from his Punjab Assembly seat reserved for minorities on the grounds that NADRA identified him as a Muslim in its records. Changing Religion for marriage. A large number of Christian girls and boys are converting from Christian to Islam just for getting marriage when parents are not agreeing with their marriage. Now we have questions. Who is responsible? Whose is duty to handle such issues? Is this only political issue? Is there anyone who wishes to work on these projects? Who will give funds for such kinds of projects? How many Muslims accepting Jesus in Pakistan? Is Church doing its assigned vision of Gospel? Is Church really sleeping? Who will be first drop of rain??? For answer contact with LEAD. As Abraham Lincoln said: If by the mere force of numbers a majority should deprive a minority of any clearly written constitutional right, it might, in a moral point of view, justify a revolution. LEAD is asking for moral support and please stands with us so that we can fight well for the war of faith.
