Appreciation and Welcoming Reception in honor of Jason Kenney and Chris Alexander

Toronto: November 16, 2013. (PCP) Appreciation and Welcoming reception for Hon. Jason Kenney, Minister of Employment, Social Development, and Multiculturalism, and Hon. Chris Alexander, new Minister for Immigration and citizenship, was hosted by: Mr. John Gill, President CCA, Prof. Obaid Chaudry, chair UTCC and past president CCA, Mr. Tim Iqbal, candidate for the MP nomination for Mississauga Central for the PC Party and Mr. Shabaz Khan Sindhu, on November 8, 2013. The event started with the opening prayer by Pastor Peter Paul followed by welcoming remarks by Mr. Tim Iqbal. Appreciation speech was given by Mr. John Gill, who highlighted the accomplishment of Hon. Jason Kenney as the most successful immigration minister of Canada. This was followed by speeches by Parliamentary Secretaries Hon. Bob Dechert, and Hon. Costas Menegakis. Several MP’s were at the event including: Hon. Stella Ambler, Hon. Brad Butt, and Hon. Wladyslaw Lizon. Prof, Obaid Chaudry said a special thanks note for Minister Kenney and highlighted how the community relationship started with him. Senior Pastor Doug Rhind praised the reforms regarding the refugee’s policy by Minister Kenney, which was helpful in sponsoring persecuted families by his church; Pastor Shahid Kamal said the closing prayer, and MC of the event was Mrs. Asima David.
